"Ang buhay ay maikli, mangaliwa." Or, in English "Life is short so have an affair" is the slogan of the Ashley Madison Agency, an agency that will help married people hook up with each other. Recently, the website was launched in the Philippines offering the same adultery service to married and committed Filipino couples. For a certain amount, they guarantee that you will have an affair within 90 days or your money back.

Ashley Madison makes it sound so easy and simple because no one will ever know! What they don't tell you about is the heartache and pain that takes place when the affair is found out.

According to a report here, 30-60% of married people have affairs and 2-3% of those affairs result in a child whom the women do not tell their husbands is someone else's. In the Philippines, 10,257 annulment cases we're filed in 2013 and 95 percent of them were granted by the courts. The number of unreported separations and pregnancies from affairs is unknown. Aside from the Vatican, the Philippines is the only country in the world that does not allow divorce.

From the innocent spouse to the child that isn't told who his real father is, there is a trail of tears, broken hearts, marital fights, and lost trust in relationships.

Studies shows the negative impacts of divorce, annulment and marital separation has on relationships. Unfortunately, Ashley Madison promote infidelity and risk the breaking of a marriage and family for business profits.

Ashley Madison's slogan reflects its worldview. Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we may die. If marriage is simply a piece of paper contract or an arrangement between two people, then why not have affairs and go for all the "merriment" you can get? Just beware of its consequences, Ashley Madison's best kept secret.
