President Noynoy Aquino Delivers His First State of the Nation Address

At kapag nanalig tayo na ang kasangga natin ay ang Diyos, mayroon ba tayong hindi kakayanin? says President Noynoy Aquino in his first State of the Nation Address.

10 Thoughts On Lindsay Lohan and the Culture That Enables Her

The Lindsay Lohan case should prompt a meaningful discussion on how to preempt another loss of a talented but tormented celebrity.

Charice, 18, Gets Botox for "Glee" debut

According to this article from FoxNews.com, "Filipino teenage singer Charice Pempengco says she prepared for her debut on the hit TV show Glee by getting Botox and an anti-aging procedure to look fresh on camera."

If reports are true, this talented young girl got some bad advice from someone. I personally think she's too young for the procedure and it sends the wrong message to other young girls.

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Sam 16:7)

State of Human Trafficking in the Philippines

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them (Gen 1:27). There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Gal 3:28).

Based on the recently released 2010 Trafficking in Person's report by the US Department of State, the Philippines still has a long way to go to combat modern human slavery.

Many Foreign Refugees Find New Lives in Manila, Philippines

This article from South China Morning Post was shared to me by my friend Vicky G. of Heirloom Rice. I feel proud and inspired on how the article put the Philippines in a very positive light. Reminds me of the words in Leviticus 19When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
